Car hire at Malaga Airport: FAQ
Costs, requirements and what happens if something goes wrong. Every condition spelled out before you book.
Driver requirements
What do I need at the desk?
Drivers aged 25 or over with a licence held for 2+ years. Show us the original licence, passport or ID card, plus a credit card under the lead driver’s name. Photocopies are not accepted.
Do non-EU licences need an IDP?
EU and UK licences are fine on their own. Licences issued in other countries may require an international driving permit, shown alongside the original.
Is cross-border travel allowed?
Spain only, unless Fetajo authorises the trip in writing and you add the extra insurance it requires. That applies to Gibraltar and Portugal too.
Price and payment
How much do I save paying online?
10%. The discount applies when you pay by card on this website.
Do you take cash?
Cash payment is possible, but a valid credit card under the main driver’s name is required as security.
Is there a mileage cap?
Kilometres are unlimited if you add our full insurance. Each rate lists its own conditions before you pay.
Is there an admin fee for traffic fines?
No. Some rental firms add one; we process the notice free of charge. Only the fine itself is the driver’s to pay.
Does cancelling cost anything?
Nothing. Every booking can be cancelled free, without charges of any kind.
Vehicles and changes
Is the model guaranteed?
The price is for a car group: cars of comparable size and features. A specific model cannot be guaranteed, but add a request in the comments box.
How do I extend the hire?
Call us 24 hours or more before the return date; that way the insurance is extended along with the hire.
Are child seats fitted for me?
No: in Spain the hirer fits child seats and other accessories under our rental terms. Ask at the desk and we will demonstrate.
Is hotel delivery an option?
Yes, within Málaga province. Marbella, Estepona, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos or Nerja: tell us the address when you book.

What if the car breaks down?
